For several years now Westwoods have offered excellent support towards my training by letting me use their top class facilities. The 25m pool is one of the nicest pools I've trained in. But best of all about the pool, it's non-chlorinated, I think it's UV treated or something fancy like that, so you don't stink of a swimming pool for hours after your swim and your kit doesn't get trashed either.
If you don't fancy the larger more impersonal fitness clubs, then I would recommend Westwoods as a smaller friendly gym that caters for every need, from swimming, gym, aerobic classes to racket sports and it even has a brasserie and crèche. Fitnessbox is a sports clothing shop located in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh. The shop specialises in compression clothing, which if you have never wore compression clothing I strongly advise you get your hands on some, especially if you take your training seriously. I wear my 2XU compression tights after all my hard sessions and I find they are great in aiding recovery. Fitnessbox is also the only Edinburgh distributor of Newton running shoes, which if you want to change from being a heel to fore foot striker they are a great training tool.
